Frequently asked questions by our customers
FAQ
Do you have any of these questions
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
You need to be at least 18 years old.
Do I need to book in?
We can usually accomodate small tattoos on the dasy as walkins. If you have a particular idea on dates and you’d like us to help with a design, please email or Call us in advance. We will get back to you with s uggested approach. Either booking in the session or arranging for a consultation where measures can be taken and for you to have a chance to discuss size, placement and design of the tattoo.
What to do before getting tattooed?
The tattooist can advice on any preparations. Tattoos usualy require only your presence and the necessary amount of time for the tattoo to take place. Come relaxed and with time. Remember to eat and have a gopod night sleep 🙂
Does getting a tattoo hurt?
It hurts. It’s hard to tell you how much it hurts because it varies so much between different people, but you’re definitely going to feel it. The better you feel when you arrive – being well rested, having eaten something, being hydrated, staying relaxed – the better you’ll be able to sit through your session.
What are the most and least painful areas of the body to get a tattoo?
Again, that varies from person to person, but the pain you’ll feel in the most painful spot isn’t much different from the pain you’ll feel in the least painful spot. The best advice we can give you is to get the tattoo where you want it.
How can I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Ensure you have plenty of sleep, food and water. Please avoid drinking and taking blood thinning medication the day before as you will bleed more. This will in turn push out the ink and affect the overall quality of your tattoo. We advise you to bring some snacks and a sugary drink to keep your energy levels up whilst being tattooed. It is also a good idea to wear suitable clothing, ie. clothing that will not obstruct the area that is going to be tattooed. Wearing white or light coloured clothing on the tattooed area tends to be a bad idea as the ink can stain your clothing.
Is it safe to get a tattoo?
Yes. We take a lot of pride in having a clean and well-cared-for shop, and we’ll take every precaution with you. Be aware, though, that there is a risk of infection if you do not properly care for your tattoo.
Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are non refundable. If by any chance you are unable to attend your appoinment you should get in touch with us or your tattooer 48 hours before the time you are booked in. It’s at the tattooer’s discretion to find the nearest and more suitable time to rebook your appointment.
Do you do all-white tattoos?
No, we do not. Although white tattoos are a popular trend, they have the potential to turn yellow and/or cause the appearance of scarring upon healing, and some even produce unsightly keloids in the long run. The truth is that white tattoos are meant for highlighting, not for complete tattooing.
Do you do temporary or henna tattoos?
No, sorry. We only do the real ones.
Do you do cover-ups and touch-ups?
Of course. We do cover-ups and touch-ups all the time. An artist will be happy to look at your existing tattoo and help put together a plan for what can be done to cover it up. Remember, though, that the darker and bolder the existing tattoo, the more difficult it is to “cover it up,” and that your new tattoo will always be bigger than the original one. Should our artist deem that the intensity of your existing tattoo risk the quality of a cover-up, we can refer you to a local removal artist who can perform a few quick sessions to break up the existing ink, and allow for a better cover-up tattoo.
How do I book an appointment?
Once we have spoken with you about your ideas, we will require a deposit to secure an appointment date with you. Your deposit will vary depending on the price of your design as a whole. The deposit will go towards the total price, so you will only pay the remaining cost of your appointment on the day. We accept deposits via PayPal if you cannot make it into the studio. PayPal addresses will be given when discussing your appointment. If deposit is given in person, we will give you an appointment card with the date, time and artist.
What after care do I need?
The tattooist will provide information and guidance on how to take care of your tattoo once the work is completed. There are also after care products available to purchase from the shop.
